What You Will Learn in Orisa 201: Embodiment
• How Yoruba cosmology functions, including the relationship between Olódùmarè, the Ìrúnmọ̀lẹ̀, Ọ̀run, and Ayé
• How to recite the Yorùbá alphabet from memory with correct pronunciation
• The geographic location of Yorùbáland and a foundational overview of Yorùbá history
• The meaning, memorization, and lived importance of Ìwà Pẹ̀lẹ́ (good character)
• Proper shrine etiquette and priestly protocols, including correct greetings
• How to prepare spiritually, mentally, and physically for divination
• How to receive your Oríṣà determination through divination, including prescribed offerings (course milestone)
• How to perform Àkúnlẹ́bọ̀, including structured prayer and offering protocols
• How to prepare and perform an Orí wash (Ìwẹ̀rì)
• How to prepare and use spiritual baths with clarity and intention
• How to perform a full Orí ritual (Ìbọrí), including feeding Orí
• How to construct and maintain an altar (Òjùbọ̀)
• How to properly feed and honor ancestors
• How to make offerings to Ẹgbẹ́ Ọ̀run through Ìpẹ̀sẹ̀
• How to respectfully make offerings to Ìyàmi
• How to memorize and recite five oríkì for your principal Oríṣà
• How to memorize and recite five oríkì for the remaining major Oríṣà
Following the course, you are encouraged to receive your first shrine, either Opa Iku (Ancestors), Ile Ori (Ori shrine) or Hand of Ifá (Shrine for Orunmila) and begin your practice.
