Originally from St Louis, MO, Baba Obasina is known in many circles, and is a man with many facets. Most people within the African-centered community know him as the teacher of Orisa 101 at Oselogbe Ifa Temple, under the leadership of Oloye Fasola Odunade. They may also know that he is an initiate of Obatala and Ifa under Abgongbon Fakayode Faniyi in Oṣogbo, Nigeria and mainly trains locally under Babalawo Faṣola Odunade here in Atlanta. But Baba Obaṣina has trained with several other highly regarded priests including Babalawo Ṣangosakin Ajala from Oṣogbo, Nigeria and Babaloriṣa Solomon Omojie of Lagos, Nigeria. In addition to being an Ifa practitioner and priest, Baba Obaṣina is a capoeirista since 1999, currently training under Gugu Quilombola of Quilombola de Luz based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Baba Obaṣina also serves on the Leadership Council of Egbe Obatala of Atlanta, and is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. His community work as a teacher and leader is an extension of his economic work as a business owner of his own music school based here in the Atlanta metro area, called Southern Music Academy, where he and his teachers guide budding musicians along their journey learning to play piano, guitar, violin, saxophone, voice, drums and more.
